This strangely reminds me of slumber parties I used to go to when I was a kid…the awkwardness, being awake long into the night, the family meal…so normal and comfortable for those who live there, but me feeling ever so slightly like an outcast, lonely. I haven’t thought about that feeling in ages, but you captured it.
