Guided Trips

I offer guided cross-country backpacking trips in Alaska’s Brooks Range and in Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Utah. Some of my trips are just for women, trans and non-binary people, and some are open to everyone.

These are education-based trips in the style of long-distance hiking (modern, lightweight gear and footwear, modern navigation techniques) so that you’ll leave with skills you can use to hike other long trails in the future and/or create your own cross-country routes. Each trip comes with two hours of one-on-one zoom calls with me beforehand, where I’ll work with you to plan your gear and food as well as teach you to make cross-country routes in caltopo. Some outdoors experience is useful for my trips, but the most important thing is hiking fitness (I ask hikers to work up to walking/running/hiking at least 25 miles/week before the trip) and a willingness to acquire gear (although I do have some loaner gear- click on the trips for more details). Below are my current trips!
