Learning to publish my work for the kindle platform has been a fascinating, frustrating, occasionally exhilarating process. I’ve learned so much in the last month, both from others and from trial and error myself, and now that my book is steady on Amazon, with a solid ranking and more than a month of consistent, daily sales, I’d like to share what I’ve learned with other small authors, so that more of us can get paid for the valuable work that we do.
The class will be at the Independent Publishing Resource center, at 1001 SE Division St in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, February 23rd, from 4 to 6 pm. The two-hour class is $15 for members of the IPRC, and $25 for non-members. You can register here.
This is an exciting time in self-publishing. I hope to see you there!!

Congratulations on the success of your book. I, too, enjoyed it and have just posted a review on Amazon : ” A Rail Less Travelled”. But I don’t know if you read the reviews. Doing so can be a wild roller-coaster ride as an author!
I hope you are still considering Createspace, or something similar for a printed version.
Good luck with your writing and self-publishing. I wish I could come along to your class. I’d like to hear of your experiences self-pubbing.
Thank you for reading my book, and thank you for posting such a thoughtful, well-crafted review! I am still considering create space, but I’m waiting until after I have another book or two on Amazon, as that is where my energies are currently going. And I’m looking into teaching an online class on kindle publishing- so if I figure that out, I’ll let you know!
I truly wish I could be there just to meet you, but I’m in Hong Kong and impossible to fly out and to hell with the office work. You know you have my support in Hong Kong.
