I’m in the interior, at my friend’s cabin, with enough purple cabbage and dried plums for two weeks! And I have a job, even! Hurrah! More updates at a later time, also expanded stories from the trip up, descriptions of snow that’s so cold it squeaks like styrofoam when you walk on it, laments on the amount of drinking everyone seems to do, etc. Yay!

Yay, Carrot, and congrats! 😀 Cannot wait to read about your journey. ^.^
I’m so glad you made it! I’ve been reading everyday, wondering in my southern heart why a person would venture into such a frigid land, but alas I am not an alaskan. I’m glad you have survived, sadly I will be in Portland during April and you are gone! (Carrot Quinn redefining ‘escape artist’ since 1980 somethin’)
Congratulations! Cabbage and plums: yum!
Carrot arrives in Alaska and the Earth erupts in fearsome celebration ( don’t inhale the ash, it’s like having sandpaper in your lungs) so, it looks like the Pacific Plate is on the move (Mt. Redoubt, Tonga undersea volcano, 4.7 ‘quake near SanDiego today…looks like the Interior is the safest place to be 🙂
wow, you rock!
Purple cabbage is so delicious! Saute it on high heat with red pepper flakes, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and a little wine for about 30 minutes – you can’t eat enough. I like to much it raw too.
